Hanoi’s economy tends to recover

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, a number of manufacturing, processing and manufacturing industries saw an increase in Hanoi’s IIP index in the first two months of the year compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, production of paper and paper products increased by 49.7%; wood processing and wood products increased by 20.7%; electronic products, computers and optical products by 11.9%; prefabricated metal products increased by 11.3%; rubber and plastic products increased by 11.1%; non-metallic mineral products by 8.4%; costumes increased by 6.7%.

Export turnover of goods in February reached 1,318 million USD, down 2.6% over the previous month but up 53% over the same period. In which: The domestic economic sector achieved export value of 690 million USD, down 4.6% and up 44.8%; the FDI sector reached 628 million USD, down 0.5% and up 63.1%.

Labor working in industrial enterprises at the end of February was estimated to increase by 1.2% over the previous month and by 0.3% over the same period last year. Generally for the first two months of 2022, the employment index of industrial enterprises decreased by 0.5% over the same period last year, of which laborers working in the processing and manufacturing industry decreased by 1.5 %; electricity and gas production and distribution decreased by 0.6%; water supply and waste and wastewater treatment increased by 19.7%; Mining decreased by 4.1%.

According to economists, after the Tet holiday, industrial enterprises in general do not have a shortage of labor. With the spirit of quickly starting work, striving to fulfill the planned targets, determined not to miss the pace of growth recovery, the capital’s economy is spreading strongly in many businesses.

There are 3.4 thousand more newly registered businesses

According to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, in the first two months of the year, Hanoi had 3.4 thousand newly registered enterprises, up 5% over the same period last year.

Registered capital of new enterprises reached 48 trillion dong, up 33%; 4.2 thousand businesses resumed operations, up 31%. The rate of online business registration documents is maintained at 100%, ensuring quality and punctuality.

Particularly in February, Hanoi had 1,487 newly registered enterprises, up 26% over the same period last year; registered capital reached 30 trillion dong, up 87%; 1,063 enterprises returned to operation, 3.2 times higher.

In addition, accumulated in the first 2 months of 2022, the whole city attracted 470.7 million USD of FDI capital, of which 35 newly registered projects with capital reached 10.7 million USD; 16 additional projects to increase investment capital with 112.6 million USD; Foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares 33 times, reaching 347.5 million USD.
