Vingroup Started A Battery Factory Of More Than 4,000 Billion In Vung Ang

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony of Vingroup’s VinES Battery Factory project, there were also former President Truong Tan Sang, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, and many senior leaders. .
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice President and General Director of Vingroup, said that the construction of VinES battery factory will provide lithium batteries for electric cars and electric buses which VinFast is investing.

In phase 1, the factory will be built on a scale of 8 hectares with a total investment of more than VND 4,000 billion. The entire infrastructure of the factory, including parts casting, welding and packaging workshops, will be built to ensure a capacity of 100,000 battery packs per year. Phase 2 of the plant will be expanded to produce battery cells and increase capacity to 1 million battery packs/year.
With an automation level of over 80%, this will be the first and most modern battery factory in Vietnam, using leading advanced technologies according to American and European standards. Vingroup is also cooperating with strategic partners who are the world’s leading names in the field of pioneering technology research to produce vehicle batteries.

“The study and construction of a battery factory in Vung Ang Economic Zone is one of the efforts to establish a clean energy ecosystem, contributing to the localization of VinFast’s supply. This is also a key strategy to help VinFast quickly realize its goal of becoming a global smart electric vehicle company,” said Mr. Quang.
