MTA HANOI 2016 Draws Strong South Korean Technology Presence

Hanoi, 19 April 2016 - MTA HANOI 2016 - The 4th International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition for Northern of Vietnam will return from 26 to 28 April 2016 at International Centre for Exhibition (I.C.E), Vietnam. This year, the event has drawn strong participation from South Korean technology companies. This comes in the wake of the huge investment flows from Korea to Vietnam in recent years, especially after the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP) and the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) have been signed.

16 companies from South Korea will be showcasing the latest home-grown cutting edge technologies and solutions specially developed for the Northern market of Vietnam.

“We are pleased with the current results of MTA HANOI. International brands are very well represented on the show grounds, and the event is the only trade platform in Hanoi where industrial buyers and users get to see the largest range of precision engineering machinery for metal products and component fabrication on display at the exhibition floor,” says Mr. BT Tee, Deputy Chief Executive, Vietnam Representative Office, Singapore Exhibition Services, organizer of MTA HANOI 2016.

South Korea - The largest international investor in Vietnam

From 2015, Vietnam has witnessed a strong inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) from South Korea. With a total investment of US$25 billion, South Korea surpassed other traditional top foreign investors – Japan, Singapore and Taiwan to become the largest investor in Vietnam 1.

The rising wave of investments from Korea is due to Vietnam’s high and stable economic growth, and the abundant and affordable manpower supply. Riding on the laurels of LG and Samsung, both major technology corporations currently operating in Vietnam, more South Korean firms have earmarked Vietnam’s manufacturing and processing industry, with roughly 2,566 projects accounting for $24.03 billion in value, and capturing over 90 percent of total registered capital, as key areas for business growth 2.

MTA HANOI 2016 - Strong Korean participation

This edition of MTA HANOI will host a large number of Korean exhibitors who will put up an impressive display of technologies, equipment and solutions catering to the local manufacturing industry. To date, 16 Korean companies are onboard – a four-time increase compared to participation numbers in the previous edition.

The Korean Pavilion at MTA HANOI 2016, organized by the Incheon Business Agency (IBA), will house Jin Young Tooltech, Korea Auto Control, Shinhan Diamond Industrial, Widin, and many more.

Alongside MTA HANOI 2016, the Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam (KORCHAM) will be hosting an exclusive Networking Event for the Korean business community in Vietnam. This event, comprising of technology presentations, will take place in the afternoon of 26th April 2016 at the Cultural Palace at ICE, Hanoi.

Mr. Ryu Hang Ha, Chairman, Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam (KORCHAM) shares: “Vietnam is an attractive destination for foreign investors and major corporations. South Korea is taking advantage of Vietnam’s investment potential, pouring billions of US dollars into many projects in Vietnam, especially in manufacturing and processing sectors, which are our two main focus industries. We realize that MTA HANOI 2016 is the most trusted and largest manufacturing event in the country; therefore, it is a precious opportunity for our company members to meet face-to-face, expand business partnerships and make successful deals with top decision-makers at the event.”

MTA HANOI 2016 – An established sourcing and knowledge platform for precision engineering and manufacturing industries in Northern of Vietnam

As Vietnam’s manufacturing industry continues to evolve and mature, MTA HANOI 2016 is well-placed to provide the links between global major industry players and home-grown suppliers and industrial factories across the value chain. The international brands who will be exhibiting in the show include Bystronic, Carl Zeiss, GF Machining Solutions, Hiwin, Hurco, Haas, Renishaw, Optical Gaging, Speed Tiger, Sodick, NT Tools, YG-1, Takamaz and Wenzel, just to name a few.

Adding to the event highlights will be three programs hosted by Multi Engineering Services (MESLAB) and Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI).
